Infant Stroller Type

What types of stroller best fits YOUR NEEDS?

Standard strollers have four wheels and are spacious to store a diaper bag or groceries.

Double strollers (also called tandem strollers) are similar to standard strollers and can be extended with a second seat as your family grows.

Twin strollers (also called side-by-side strollers) have two seats next to each other to accommodate two children of around the same age, e.g. twins.

Jogging strollers have three bigger wheels to go faster safely.

Compact strollers fold extra small so it’s easier to travel with them.

Car Seat Compatibility

Does YOUR CAR SEAT fit on your baby stroller?

All strollers we recommend can fit at least one infant car seat, so you don’t have to wake your little one up when getting out of the car. However, not all strollers fit all car seats. Researching which combinations work can be time consuming.

Buying a travel system (a car seat with a compatible stroller) is one way to make sure this works, but locks you into the same brand for the stroller and car seat.

The above comparison chart shows you the compatible car seats and links to the required adapter to make your stroller/car seat combination work.

Extendability Options

What features can extend the usefulness of your stroller as your child grows up or you grow YOUR FAMILY?

  • Bassinet: the option to switch out a seat with a bassinet allows you to take more comfortable naps with a newborn
  • Reversible seat: the ability to turn the seat rear facing (to watch a baby) as well as forward-facing (for older kids) makes the stroller useful longer
  • Second child seat: the option to add a second toddler seat (usually in the front, which makes a standard stroller a tandem one)
  • Third child option: the option to add on a ride-on board or sitting bench for an older third sibling
